新型コロナウイルス禍が中国共産党政権に与えた政治的影響

Abstract

The outbreak of the Covid-19 infection explosion that began in Wuhan, China, drew severe criticism over the authorities' delay in initial response and information concealment, and shook the Chinese Communist Party regime. On the other hand, the government succeeded in stopping the spread of the infection through strict measures and quickly started the economic recovery. As other countries suffer from the pandemic, the sense of superiority that Chinesestyle governance is working well is higher than ever. The Covid-19 crisis was a unique opportunity to show the weaknesses and strengths of the communist regime to the fullest. I will analyze the political impact of the Covid-19 crisis on the Communist regime based on my experience as the Chief of the China Bureau since the beginning of the infection explosion.
