抄録: | Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim was a lieutenant general of the Russian Empire who was loyal to Nicholas II and served in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I. After the 1917 Revolution, he moved to Finland, where he fought as a commander of the White Guard in the Finnish Civil War; subsequently, he fought against the Soviet Union in the Winter War and World War II. As a result, his evaluation has often caused controversy in Russia; the most significant one surrounded the installation of his commemorative plaque in St. Petersburg in 2016. This paper will utilize this controversy to exhibit the lack of a common understanding of patriotism in Russia. Further, it will reveal the characteristics of Russia's perception of history, which cannot be understood simply by arguing that the regime uses it as a tool to foster patriotism. |
