抄録: | Our joint research project at Center for Asian and Pacific Studies, Seikei University, titled “Invention of Identities and Development of Pluralism: From the Perspectives of Asia/China”, hosted a symposium “Words, Letters, Women's Liberation” at Ochanomizu University on December 12, 2010. The idea of the symposium had been proposed to the Gender History Association of Japan to be one of its Free Panel Discussion programs at the Association's Seventh Annual Conference, and was accepted and carried out to become the third conference for the project. The aim of the panel was to discuss the aspects of gender in language and identity which was not treated at the first symposium of the project, titled “Search to Pluralistic World: Language and Identity in Age of Empire” held on November 13, 2010. This paper reports on the discussion at the symposium, the organizer's assessments, and the topics to be studied further in the future. |
